The district accepts nominations for Circle of Greatness throughout the school year from parents, students, fellow employees and community members, and there are no limitations to the number of nominations each month.

The top nominee from each category is recognized as a Circle of Greatness Special Honoree three times per year, then all of the Special Honorees are candidates for the overall Circle of Greatness winner. This year’s winners were awarded a $500 Visa Giftcard thanks to the district's Bearcat Backers and the Aledo Education Foundation.

During the 2024-2025 school year, nearly 815 nominations were made encompassing each campus and department and hundreds of employees. Here's what nominators had to say about the 2024-2025 overall winners:

2024 - 2025 Circle of Greatness Honorees

Professional: Elaina Walden, AHS AP Biology and Forensics Teacher:
Elaina’s dedication shines through in the outstanding support she provides to new teachers, the motivation she brings to our team, and the creativity in her lesson planning. Elaina has been a vital mentor to new teachers, guiding them with thoughtful onboarding resources, one-on-one coaching, and helpful feedback through classroom observations. Her impact has given these teachers confidence and a strong start in their roles. Elaina Walden truly exemplifies “Growing Greatness” by enriching our team and enhancing the student experience.

Paraprofessional: Kolton Klein, Technology Help Desk Technician:
The department was preparing for an important meeting and realized a couple of days before that we needed more technology equipment. We put a ticket in and Kolton responded quickly and came the following day. He made sure everything was ready to go for us, and even let us borrow his personal equipment to make sure we were taken care of. He went above and beyond and we really appreciate the help he gives to our department! His expertise and lightning speed to respond to issues is unmatched. When our internet goes out or we don't know how to fix something, Kolton to the rescue! We love him. Thank you for always helping with my computer needs. Always showing up with a smile on your face and never leaving until my computer is fixed. I appreciate all you do!

Auxiliary: Kurt Lawrence, Transportation Bus Driver:
Kurt has consistently demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to safety, customer service, and professionalism. His attention to detail, calm demeanor, and exceptional driving skills ensure that all kids feel safe and comfortable throughout their journey. Kurt goes above and beyond the call of duty each day. You can always hear him as the kids get off the bus say “have a good day” as the doors close and he continues with a wave to the parents. He keeps our kids safe but most importantly our kids FEEL safe with him. We are forever grateful for Mr. Lawrence!

Substitute: Elizabeth Palmer:
As a guest teacher, Elizabeth consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that students remain engaged and supported in their learning. She arrives prepared, fosters a positive classroom environment, and builds strong connections with both students and staff. Elizabeth isn’t just a substitute—she is a valued part of our Coder family. She is one of the first people we call because we know that when she’s here, our students are in the best hands. Her well-rounded skill set and willingness to take on any challenge make her highly sought after, yet she always makes time for us. Elizabeth’s presence brings a sense of stability and excellence to our campus, and we are incredibly grateful for all she does for our students and staff.
